We are proud to announce that WTB-sponsored rider Steve Peat won the 2009 Downhill World Championships in Canberra, Australia.
Although the 36-year-old rider from Sheffield, England has won more World Cup races than any downhiller in history (17, in total), the World Championships has always eluded him. That finally changed last Sunday, when he beat his Santa Cruz Syndicate teammate Greg Minnaar by .05 seconds to take the gold. Mick Hannah took the third spot and WTB/Subaru rider Fabien Barel came in fourth.
Peat's saddle of choice is WTB's Rocket V SLT in white/red. Minaar's saddle of choice is the WTB Shadow V SLT and Barel prefers the WTB Silverado.
