While Ireland enjoyed the hottest temperatures of the year, teenager Killian Callaghan scorched to victory in the second round of the Gravity Ireland Enduro Series on Three Rock Mountain, overlooking Dublin City. Up against EWS Pro rider and fellow WTB athlete Dan Wolfe, Killian knew he'd have a battle on his hands. Especially considering both riders were racing on home turf.
Wolfe went down in the opening stage, allowing Callaghan to post the fastest time. In the following two stages, Callaghan again posted the fastest times and held a 11-second lead at the halfway point. Wolfe pulled the advantage on the 4th stage and then Callaghan bounced back with a 4-second advantage on stage 5.
With the final spectator stage finishing alongside the race village, the jump section is known to be a real crowd pleaser. Urged on by the spectators to use his BMX experience, Callaghan was the only rider to clear the 15-foot root gap jump.
Sundays victory takes moves Killian Callaghan and Dan Wolfe joint leaders in the Gravity Enduro Pro Series.
Congrats to both of them!
